Welch Motorsport will be entering the Ginetta G50 Cup Championship this season & have a winning G50 available for individual rounds.

Despite missing the first 2 rounds at Brands Hatch, we are confident in the performance of the car & are very pleased with the initial testing & race performance the car has already chalked up 3 pole positions 2 fastest laps & 1st 2nd & 3rd race results.  we have set the car up well & are pleased with the performance & handling.

The championship receives full support from Ginetta Cars UK. The Ginetta G50 Cup - eligible only for Ginetta G50 ‘Cup’ specification cars - is a true introduction to real GT racing. Wheel- to-wheel action as part of the British Touring Car Championship package accompanies its Ginetta Junior sister Championship.
A 20-minute qualifying session determines grid positions for the weekend’s two 20-minute races. A driver’s fastest lap in this time is taken into account for race one’s grid, whilst their second fastest lap relates to their starting position for race two.

We shall also be running a Ginetta G20 based car in the Junior Championship driven by Adam Bonham.

The one make series is based on the hugely popular Ginetta G20 car – retaining the rear wheel drive, lightweight characteristics that contributed to its popularity.

The Championship supports the British Touring Car Championship placing it on the biggest stage possible in the UK. Large crowds provide an electric atmosphere and live TV coverage on ITV4 with a highlights programme is part and parcel of the media support.

A 15 minute qualifying session determines grid positions for the weekend’s two 15-minute races. A driver’s fastest lap in this time is taken into account for race one’s grid, whilst their second fastest lap relates to their starting position for race two.

Governed by rules and regulations including sealed engines, gearboxes and differentials, any major component cannot be modified on the car.

This prevents expensive research and development; ensuring all cars are identical to provide close, thrilling racing between evenly- matched drivers.
